RandomCafe
A bilingual iOS/Android app that picks where to eat - in one tap.
Choosing where to eat often takes longer than the meal itself. RandomCafe removes the choice: press the button, get one place nearby, go.
The app finds cafés and restaurants around you and spins for one at random. If you don't like it, spin again. Places you have already been shown can be excluded, so the wheel keeps offering somewhere new instead of looping through the same handful of spots.
Beyond the dice there is a list of everything nearby sorted by walking distance, and a map showing all of it at once. Tapping any place opens its card: photos, rating, what kind of food it serves, address and a phone number you can call straight from the app.
Anything worth remembering goes to favourites, and every pick is kept in history - useful when you want to find that place again but can't recall the name.
Filters keep the results relevant: search radius, and cuisine - Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Western, cafés, fast food.
The whole interface works in Korean and English. In English mode Korean names are transliterated automatically, with the original kept underneath, and well-known chains show their real English names rather than a phonetic spelling.
Built for Seoul, where there is a café on every corner and that is exactly the problem.
